Cyber Security alert: Phishing and hacking emails

The Cyber Security Program Office has become aware of email communications (see example below) that have recently appeared since the lab’s deployment of Office 365.

Contact the Service Desk at ext. 2-9999, option 2, or Cyber Security at ext. 2-3456 if you receive an email like the example below or are concerned that your computer has been infected by a malicious act.

As national laboratory computer users connecting to the outside world, employees should be alert to attempts of phishing and other hacker malicious actions.

Subject: New Message From Office365 Online

Your account will be suspended over 24 hours if you failed to confirm your
account information.

Why my account will be suspended?

Recently, there’s been activity in your account that seems unusual compared
to account activities.

Possible existence someone is using your Bank of the West account without
your knowledge.

To restore your account, please Sign-in to your office365 online
account<http://www.bit.ly/SOMERANDOMSTRINGOFLETTERS**
