Employees received instruction on how to use the exercise equipment along with a voucher for 100 Virgin Pulse points during the recent fitness for fun event at Argonne’s new outdoor exercise area.
The outdoor fitness area is located in the 600 Area near the basketball court, across Bluff Road from Bldg. 362. Equipment includes an ab crunch/leg lift, assisted row/push up, balance steps, chest/back press, plyometrics, pull-up/dip, squat press, stretch and parallel bars.
When using the exercise area equipment, please be respectful of others and adhere to the safety information below.
Fitness area safety information:
- Must be 18 years or older to use equipment
- Open dawn to dusk
- Follow instructions for each piece of equipment
- Equipment may be hot and a towel or yoga mat may be needed before sitting or touching the surfaces warmed by the sun
- If you feel pain while using equipment, stop immediately
- Best practice is to not exercise alone
- Carry with you at all times:
- Water bottle or other appropriate hydration
- Personal towel (for perspiration and/or to cover hot surfaces before touching or sitting)
- Cell phone
- Avoid clothing with drawstrings, hoops or toggles
- Equipment should not be used when wet or icy
- Proper footwear is required – closed-toe athletic shoes with appropriate traction
- Bicycles, skateboards and rollerblades are not allowed
