Argonne Toastmasters Club #128 invites Argonne employees and local residents to enroll in its upcoming Speechcraft workshop. The 6-week workshop will be held on Fridays from Oct. 20, 2017, through Dec. 1, 2017, from noon to 1 p.m. at Argonne National Laboratory, 9700 South Cass Ave., Lemont (Building 201, Room 190). Space is limited to five participants. The cost is $5 for active Toastmasters members and $20 for nonmembers. Note: Workshop group will not meet Nov. 24, 2017.
The Speechcraft workshop allows experienced Toastmasters to present the fundamentals of public speaking to nonmembers in a seminar-style program outside of the regular club meetings. It is the quickest way for non-Toastmasters to jump right into the process of improving their speaking skills.
“Argonne Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Tracy Sims, Club President for Toastmasters Club #128.
Speechcraft participants will learn public speaking and evaluation skills in a safe, supportive environment and derive many of the benefits of Toastmasters. What are those benefits?
- Gain confidence in public speaking.
- Develop communication and language skills.
- Learn to think quickly and clearly.
- Become an effective listener.
- Evaluate effectively.
- Use body language and visual aids.
- Advance social skills.
- Improve job or promotion prospects.
- Experience the benefits of membership to a Toastmasters club.
To reserve your space, complete the Speechcraft registration form.
For additional information, contact Jack Demirgian or stop by the Toastmasters Club #128 general meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at noon. Non-members are welcome to attend as guests.
