Abstract
December 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the world’s first artificial nuclear chain reaction. That major scientific feat precipitated the development of nuclear power plants that have electrified millions of homes, businesses and factories around the world. Though decades old, nuclear energy’s story is beginning a new chapter.
Join us on October 26, as nuclear engineer Dave Grabaskas describes the journey nuclear energy has undertaken since that consequential December day, and explains what the future of nuclear energy may look like and the role that Argonne and the University of Chicago will have in it.
