By John Quintana, Interim Deputy Laboratory Director for Operations/Chief Operations Officer

The Next Step Survey is under way, and hundreds of you have already participated — thank you! Your responses to this survey are essential to assessing our progress, and guiding the laboratory, on matters of diversity and inclusion at Argonne.

As with any survey, more responses mean a more accurate and reflective data set. We want to be sure our entire workforce is well represented so the laboratory can build on its strengths and identify and address opportunities for improvement.

To demonstrate how vitally important your survey responses are, I will donate $1 to the Argonne Combined Appeal for every survey completed by a Mission Support employee until Friday, Oct. 20. At the end of the survey, I’ll write a check and let you know how well we did.

If you haven’t already, please take the survey. It should take 10 minutes or less. Please be assured your responses are confidential and are processed by a third-party firm. We are interested in identifying trends and issues, not individuals.

Full- and part-time employees and postdocs are eligible to take the survey. Employees can take the survey on a desktop, laptop or tablet. It is not designed to be completed on a mobile phone. Public tablets will be available for taking the survey on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the 2017 Wellness and Safety Fair, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Building 240 TCS Conference Center. (Add to your calendar.)

We cannot accomplish our goal of a fostering and nurturing an inclusive, diverse and collaborative community without your support, and I greatly value your participation in this program. If you have questions about the survey, please contact leadershipinstitute@anl.gov.
