The Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) program will host its third annual LDRD Day Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Building 446 Auditorium at the Advanced Protein Characterization Facility. Poster sessions will be held in the lobby area outside the auditorium.

This year, the focus of LDRD Day will be helping Argonne scientists, engineers and researchers learn how to cultivate new research and development funding opportunities, gain insight into the LDRD Prime strategic focus areas and develop collaborative networks with other researchers.

All interested employees are welcome to attend any of the presentations, poster sessions and networking events. There is no obligation to attend the full day.

For lead investigators receiving funding in FY 2018, attendance at the “What You Need to Know about LDRD: News and Training” session at 4 p.m. is mandatory. If the lead investigator is unable to attend, please contact the LDRD Program Office to make other arrangements.

Representatives from Argonne’s LDRD program will be on hand to answer questions.

Argonne invests Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) funds to explore new pathways for science and pursue innovative research with the potential to open future opportunities to support the U.S Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) missions. Such research may also lead to new opportunities to support other sponsors and may point to potential technology transfer to industry. The LDRD program underpins our ability to advance our scientific and technical leadership in key DOE mission areas.
