Argonne’s Global Security Sciences Division is hosting a sold-out crowd of 240 visitors on Tuesday, Oct. 24, and Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017. The “They’ve Got Your Back: Planning for Catastrophes” tour focuses on the work of Argonne’s “Doomsday Squad,” a team of scientists who create predictive models anticipating how any disaster may unfold. The guests will see the Mira supercomputer and the Emergency Operation Center.
The tour is part of Know Your Chicago, an annual fall lecture and tour series designed to promote civic awareness and participation.
