The employee resource group Spectrum will host a brown-bag lunch and learn session on “Understanding LGBTQ Identities and Why It Matters in the Workplace,” Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Building 446 Auditorium.
Have you ever wondered what being “out” in the workplace actually means and why it’s important? Are you confused by the terms being used by people in the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning) communities? Are you fearful of saying the wrong thing and accidentally offending someone? Do you have questions that you would like to ask but don’t know if they will be taken the wrong way?
All employees are invited to bring their lunches and attend this interactive presentation. Speakers Jeannie Gainsburg and Noah Wagoner of the LGBTQ Academy at the Out Alliance will share a bit about themselves and then answer any and all questions in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
