Interactive exercise and injury prevention classes

Part of the 2018 Incentivized Wellness Program, “Strength and Stability: Maintaining Muscle and Joint Health,” this series of 20-minute wellness seminars focus mainly on strength, stretching, stability, balance and pain management. Led by Physical Therapist Assistant Joni Garcia (HEW), and occasionally other HEW employees, attendees will learn how to reduce their risk of injury with simple stretching and strengthening techniques. You won’t sweat much, but you will learn skills to help you on a daily basis.

The seminars are also available online as elective courses in the Training Management System, though in-person attendance is recommended as the sessions are designed to be interactive. Each month a new seminar will be available. Each seminar is worth 1,000 Virgin Pulse points.

Participation in all 12 seminars translates to 12,000 points earned. All employees are welcome to attend and bring their lunches. There is no cost or registration required.

Argonne’s 20-Minute Exercise and Injury Prevention series will run from October 2017, through September 2018.

All classes are scheduled to be held at 12:15 p.m. in Building 402, Lower Gallery.
