The Nuclear Engineering (NE) Division is offering a tour of Argonne’s Nuclear Energy Exhibition Hall to lab employees on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Building 208.
The NE Exhibition Hall tells the story of Argonne’s pioneering role in the atomic age, and how those early building blocks are leading to new groundbreaking projects in nuclear energy. It presents the major milestones in the development of nuclear power in the United States and explains Argonne’s role in the design of nuclear reactors, beginning with the Manhattan project, to present-day commercial reactors, to advanced reactor designs currently under development. The exhibit includes reactor models and examples of components used in nuclear reactors.
