Registration is open to teams and individuals looking to join Argonne’s recreational 16-inch softball league. A Chicago classic, 16-inch softball is played without gloves (although women are allowed to wear gloves). The league, now entering its 70th season, is open to adult men and women, both employees and non-employees.
Teams can consist of any ratio of men and women without penalty. Games are played at Argonne Park beginning Wednesday, May 16 through early August. Double-headers are played on Wednesdays with the first game starting at 5:50 p.m. Argonne Park is located on the east side of Cass Ave. just north of Bluff Rd.
Players of all skill levels are welcome to come out. Umpires are also needed. League fees are $400 per team. There is a $200 prize to the post-season tournament winner.
