Branch Geoffrey Pierce
Branch Geoffrey Pierce, who worked as an environmental engineer in Argonne’s Health, Safety and Environment Division, died on April 18, 2018, at the age of 65.
His tenure at the lab began in 1991 and it was at Argonne in 1995 that Pierce met his wife Linda while conducting an inspection walkthrough. Pierce served eight years as group leader of the environmental compliance group. Prior to Argonne, he had worked at Nalco Chemical.
After attending the University of Nebraska, Pierce earned his master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Born in St. Charles, Illinois, he grew up in Wheaton and was a resident of Lisle.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.
