Charles “Chuck” Blair (STE) has worked to extend the reach of the lab’s commitment to safety by providing prompt responses and updates, via email or phone, to all recipients of certified reference material (CRM) shipments since his assignment to that area last fall — no small feat given the volume of shipments that he may be processing at any given time.
Blair’s attention to detail and work manner are regularly noted by those he helps, including a recipient at the University of Kansas who recently expressed gratitude for Blair’s help and professional consideration.
In addition, Blair has been helpful with clarifications to the U.S. Department of Transportation process for CRM shipments, proving to be an asset to the Security, Travel and Emergency Services group.
Spot Awards give employees “on-the-spot” recognition for positive safety or quality assurance initiative. The Spot Award program offers three award levels: gold ($100), silver ($50) and bronze ($25).
If you see an employee exhibiting behavior that warrants positive recognition (e.g., safe behavior or process improvements), you can nominate that individual for a Spot Award by submitting Spot Award (ANL-758).
The form will be routed to the individual’s supervisor and division for approval. Observers may award employees from their own division or from other divisions. The cost of the award is charged to the recipient’s division.
Additional information about the Spot Award program is available on Inside Argonne.
