Curatorial Statement
By Carol Weber, Exhibit Curator
Looking at abstract art is like music, because it has a narrative without a story, without people: a drama without words. “Degrees of Abstraction” exemplifies the rich complexity found in abstraction. These seven artists’ investigate the threads that tie together non-verbal philosophy, symbolic logic or non-number mathematics. Each artist endeavors to demonstrate the enduring vitality of non-representational art.
