Some teams manage incidents and errors far more effectively than others. Why is that? What works? What doesn’t? The “WPC Human Factors, a Team Approach” (WPC 203) learning program is an interactive, discussion-based workshop that helps participants learn evidence-backed, field-tested error management strategiesfor Work Planning and Control (WPC).

The Improving How We Work (IHWW) team has facilitated multiple sessions of the “Human Factors, a Team Approach” workshop. To date, 85 workers, researchers and frontline leaders have participated in this learning program giving itextremely positive reviews.

The workshop benefits both operations professionals and researchers. The class includes case studies based on actual incidents that have occurred at both Argonne and Fermilab. The course brings programmatic and operations employees from across the laboratory together with their group leaders, foremen or forewomen, or line supervisors.

To learn more about this program or to register for an upcoming session, email Mike Edelen, HSE Training and Safety Information manager, or call ext. 2-2068.
