Raj Mago, former engineering senior manager at Navistar, will present “Sikh American Cultural Safari” on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at the Argonne Guest House. The seminar begins at 11 a.m. followed by a lunch. Hosted by the Argonne Alumni Association (A3), the event is open to all current and retired employees and members of the public.

A plated lunch will be available immediately following the presentation. The menu choices include: pasta, salads, and various sandwiches for $14/person including beverage, service charge and sales tax.

To register for the seminar, email Dave Livengood and indicate if you will attend the presentation only or the presentation and lunch. Non-employees require a gate pass and should email Angie McKay by Monday, Sept. 17,  to request one.

Abstract

The presentation will be an introduction to the Sikh religion and culture. Who are the Sikhs? Why do the men wear a turban? What are the key beliefs and cultural aspects of this religion, which originated five centuries ago in south Asia and is now the fifth largest faith in the world?
