Microbiome Research Symposium 2019

The second Microbiome Research Symposium, hosted by the Microbiome Research Center, takes place Tuesday, April 16, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Logan Center for the Arts, UChicago.

The focus of this year’s event will be emerging and essential microbial methods, illustrating approaches and techniques used and developed by scientists across the microbial research spectrum.

Libusha Kelly, assistant professor, Department of Systems & Computational Biology & Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, will deliver the keynote speech. Kelly’s work illuminates novel marine viruses, microbial population dynamics and their impact on human health.

All early career scientists, students and postdocs are invited to register, especially those at Argonne National Laboratory, the Marine Biology Lab and UChicago. Register to attend or submit a short abstract to be invited to present a talk or poster, highlighting the technical applications of your microbial research.

Abstracts for talks and posters are due Saturday, March 16, 2019. Selected abstracts will be notified Friday, March 22, 2019.
