Our science deserves the best operational support, and our employees and sponsors expect timely, reliable and accurate financial information. In the coming months, expect to hear more about the latest Improving How We Work (IHWW) program: Financial Management “Get to Green.”
Following a recent review — requested by the Board of Governors, including representatives from the University and outside parties — of our financial reporting processes and systems, Executive Sponsor Kim Sawyer, Deputy Lab Director of Operations and Chief Operations Officer, has launched the new Improving How We Work program. Financial Management “Get to Green” aims to close existing gaps to ensure that we’re realizing the full potential of our Workday Financial system and that stakeholders are confident in our financial reporting.
Program objectives are:
- To better understand and accommodate sponsor reporting needs
- To strengthen financial management reporting capabilities within the lab and with our sponsors
- To improve adoption of the Workday Financials system through training, feedback and continuous improvement
Over the next few weeks, the program team will be reaching out to stakeholders across the laboratory to gather input. We look forward to your active engagement.
