You can help encourage female high school students to explore science, technology, engineering and math careers by volunteering for the Science Careers in Search of Women (SCSW) Conference student luncheon on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

The luncheon will be held from 12:45–1:30 p.m. in the Theory and Computing Sciences Conference Center (Building 240).

SCSW provides students with an opportunity to learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers through a variety of interactions with Argonne’s world-class researchers and mission-support employees. The luncheon connects Argonne professionals with small groups of four to six students who have been selected by their schools for their interest in STEM. The luncheon is a unique forum where students can ask questions and employees can share their career experiences in a relaxed social setting.

With nearly 300 students participating, the success of the luncheon depends critically on volunteers who generously share their time and engage these students. To volunteer for the SCSW student luncheon, please complete the SCSW luncheon volunteer form by Friday, April 5, 2019. This is a great chance to inspire young women to pursue STEM careers.

You can learn more about the conference on the SCSW webpage.
