Custom Manufacturing Solutions‑Central Shops (CMS‑CS) has opened a new base of operations in Building 363. “Having a space inside the current shops building makes it easier to sit down and discuss projects with all the people who will be involved,” said Bob Swale, department manager at CMS‑CS.
The new offices are part of CMS‑CS’s focus on encouraging collaboration on design and manufacturing projects early in the process to make sure specs are correct, quality is delivered and critical paths are not overlooked. Customers will now have a comfortable space to talk through new jobs, make sure paperwork is filed properly, check on job status and make changes to their jobs should the need arise.
“You’ll never have to wonder, ‘Can they do this? Who do I even talk to?’ We can put you in touch with the right person,” Swale offered. “And when you talk face-to-face, you can throw out an idea then we can come back with something to build on that. It gets you to the right place faster.”
They are already fully up and running. And on Thursday, May 9, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., CMS‑CS is holding an office open house for the lab community. Visitors can enjoy some refreshments, take a tour of the shop facility and talk the CMS‑CS machining and welding staff about their capabilities.
Be sure to follow the signs and enter Building 363 via the northeast side door.
