The Argonne Cerebras CS-1 Deep Learning workshop: “Open Forum for Application Selection” will be held Friday, June 7, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 240, Room 1416. Speakers include Associate Laboratory Director Rick Stevens (CLS) and Computational Scientist Harry Yoo (DSL).
Argonne is leading high-impact opportunities to use advanced hardware for deep learning in mission critical areas. One of these new systems is the Cerebras CS-1 which will deploy on site in late summer 2019. To ensure that Argonne project teams are ready to use this advanced architecture the moment it’s deployed, Computing, Environment, & Life Sciences is initiating a series of events to support researchers across the lab.
Recently, Stevens delivered kick-off talk to outline the opportunities, anticipated activities and schedule. Using knowledge gained from this event, laboratory researchers who believe their projects meet the deep learning criteria and want to use the CS-1 machine are strongly encouraged to register and participate in the workshop.
Groups that meet the criteria will then be invited to a hackathon to get them fully ready for immediate work on the CS-1.
Registration and participation
To attend the Argonne Cerebras CS-1 Deep Learning workshop: “Open Forum for Application Selection” and be considered for an application project with access to the CS-1, you must:
- Register
- Complete the pre-questionnaire form on the registration page
- Present at the workshop using the provided PPT slide deck during your designated speaking slot
The workshop is open to all Argonne personnel. Note that there is no fee for the workshop, but participants are responsible for their own expenses. Space is limited and registration is required.
