This important training has recently been enhanced to include A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate), a nationally recognized best practice for a proactive options-based response strategy to an active shooter encounter. These sessions highlight the seriousness of an active shooter event and will include depictions of active shooter scenarios, including loud noises, simulated gunfire and several actors.
The updated training was recently approved by the laboratory’s Operational Excellence Council. All laboratory personnel are strongly encouraged to attend. It is imperative all personnel recognize high-risk behaviors and situations, and be knowledgeable of these critical life-saving strategies.
