On Monday, Dec. 2, the U.S. Senate confirmed Dan Brouillette as the 15th U.S. Secretary of Energy. He received bipartisan support for his nomination, which moved to vote quickly. I consider that a sign of the value our nation’s leaders place on the U.S. Department of Energy.
Secretary Brouillette served as the deputy secretary of energy under Secretary Rick Perry, and Argonne National Laboratory has established a productive relationship with him. He visited us most recently in October 2019 prior to the InnovationXLab Summit. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing America’s national security, energy security, and economic security through groundbreaking science, technology, and innovation.
