In October 2014, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) launched a pilot program called Lab-Corps to accelerate the transfer of innovative clean energy technologies from the DOE’s national laboratories to the commercial marketplace. Lab-Corps aims to better train and empower national lab researchers to successfully transition their discoveries into high-impact, real-world technologies in the private sector.
So far, teams from Argonne have participated in two different project “cohorts” that have been funded by the program. Based on the success of the program to date, DOE has announced a call for applications for two more project cohorts, which will begin in the summer and fall, respectively.
The funding schedule for “Cohort 3” and “Cohort 4” dictates that teams will need to be selected late this spring. As such, Argonne is soliciting applications to be submitted by Sunday, May 1, 2016, 5 p.m. Central.
Cohort 3 and Cohort 4 applications will be open to a wide range of research areas, particularly but not exclusively those that lie in the mission space of DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy.
