The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County may conduct prescribed fires in Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve from Monday, Nov. 7, through Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, and Monday, Feb. 20, through Friday, April 21, 2017. Potential fire areas are outside the lab’s eastern and southern boundaries.
Prescribed fires will be conducted only on days that meet the following parameters:
- Wind speed greater than 5 m.p.h.
- Relative humidity between 5% to 70%
- No precipitation to allow fine dead fuels such as leaf litter and grass to dry
