The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, issued a call for proposals to DOE facilities that wish to seek funding from DOE’s FY-17 Technology Commercialization Fund (TCF).

The amount of funding estimated to be available for FY-2017 is approximately $23.4 million.

TCF is aimed at helping the national labs and research partners mature promising energy technologies and move them to the marketplace. TCF is part of a broader set of initiatives designed to foster stronger partnerships among DOE facilities, private-sector companies and other entities involved in bringing energy-related technologies to the marketplace.

TCF funding is available for technology maturation (Topic 1) and for CRADA co-funding in support of commercialization with a collaboration partner (Topic 2). There is a 50/50 cost-share expectation for awards, with matching funds coming from non-federal sources such as private-sector companies.

The deadline to submit letters of intent to apply is Dec. 22, 2016 (7 p.m. Central Time). The deadline for proposals is Feb. 10, 2017 (7 p.m. Central Time). Argonne staff is available to assist with the proposal submission process.

Awardees will be announced in spring 2017.

An informational webinar will be held at 2:30 p.m. Central Time on Dec. 1, 2016.

If you have questions and/or interest in applying, please contact the Business Development Executive from Argonne’s Technology Development and Commercialization Division (TDC) with whom you’ve previously worked, or Hemant Bhimnathwala, TDC’s Business Development Manager, at ext. 2-2354.
