The on-campus shoemobile provides a broad selection of safety shoes, winter boots and special ice-traction devices that can be placed over shoes.

Employees interested in footwear through the shoemobile should complete a Request for Safety Shoes (ANL-9A), have it approved by a supervisor, and take it to the shoemobile. There is no cost to the employee if the footwear is approved for work-related use.

Shoemobile hours

The shoemobile service is available to employees every Monday at the Building 200 parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon and in the Building 360 parking lot from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ice-traction devices

Over-the-shoe ice-traction devices are intended for employees who perform outdoor work or make frequent trips between buildings during inclement weather. They provide stability and control on snow, ice and slick surfaces. The devices are made of abrasion resistant steel coils that easily slip on over your winter weather footwear. They are an option in addition to rugged winter footwear.

Caution: Do not wear ice-traction devices indoors as these devices can be slippery on tile. When removing the ice-traction devices, it is best to sit down in a chair.
