Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is hosting the eighth annual Modeling, Experimentation and Validation (MeV) Summer School Monday, July 17 through Thursday, July 27, 2017. The 9-day event provides graduate students and early career nuclear engineers and scientists with advanced studies in integrated modeling, experimentation and validation to prepare them for some of the key challenges and demands facing the nuclear energy renaissance. The MeV Summer School is intended to fill a critical educational gap for engineers and applied scientists involved in the design, licensing and operation of 21st century nuclear power plants.

The school offers classes at three locations — INL’s Materials and Fuels Complex, the Center for Advanced Energy Studies and the Center for Higher Education at University Place in Idaho Falls. The event is sponsored by INL, Argonne National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Idaho State University and the Center for Advanced Energy Studies. This year’s school topic is “Nuclear Safety Analysis: Past, Present and Future.

Cost of the school is $3,000. Program information and online application instructions are available online. The application deadline is April 7. Acceptance notification will be emailed to applicants by April 30. For more information, contact Tandy Bales at (208) 526-8770 or (208) 351-6031.
