Clifford to speak at Chicago Forum on Global Cities

Megan Clifford

Megan Clifford (GSS), Deputy Director of Argonne’s Risk and Infrastructure Science Center, will be part of the panel discussion “Planning for Disruption, Promoting Resilience” at the 2017 Chicago Forum on Global Cities.

The session will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 10:45 to 11:50 a.m. at the Art Institute of Chicago, Rubloff Auditorium, 230 South Columbus Drive, Chicago.

In addition to Clifford, panelists include:

  • Bernard Hogan-Howe, Former Commissioner, London’s Metropolitan Police Services
  • Martin Kimani, Director, National Counter-Terrorism Center, Kenya and Special Envoy CVE
  • David Paulison, Former Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Board of Trustees, UL
  • John Tory, Mayor, City of Toronto, Canada

Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson, US News Editor, Financial Times will moderate the discussion. The conference is presented by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the Financial Times.

Planning for Disruption, Promoting Resilience
What are the infrastructure demands and who are the stakeholders needed to be engaged to be a resilient city in the 21st century? How can cities prepare for, prevent, or most effectively respond to the natural and man-made disasters our cities will face? How can local, national and international agencies better coordinate to improve resilience and security?
