Three FREE first-aid and CPR courses are being offered by the Argonne Fire Department.
Friends & Family CPR
Oct. 7, 2017, 9-11 a.m. in Building 240, Room 1416
This hands-on course provides a basic understanding of how to perform CPR, adult CPR and choking relief, child and infant CPR and choking and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The course is open to Argonne and DOE employees, contractors, students, users, family and friends. Children must be at least five-years old to participate. To sign up for this class, send an email to CPR@anl.gov. This course is not available through Argonne’s Training Management System (TMS).
Pediatric First Aid & CPR (ESH109PFA)
Oct. 10, 2017, 8 a.m. – noon, Building 241, Room D172
This hands-on course teaches parents, relatives, childcare providers and babysitters the basic skills necessary to appropriately react during a pediatric emergency until professional help arrives. Topics covered include: child CPR and choking, infant CPR and choking, pediatric first aid and use of an AED. This class is open to all Argonne and DOE employees, students, contractors and users, and any family members age 12 or older. Upon successful completion of the class, you will be certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The certification is valid for two years. This American Heart Association course meets the regulatory requirements for childcare workers in all 50 U.S. states. Adult First Aid & CPR (ESH109FA)
Oct. 18, 2017, 8 a.m. – noon, Building 241, Room D172
This hands-on course teaches people the basic skills necessary to appropriately react during an adult medical emergency until professional help arrives. Topics covered include adult CPR and choking, adult first aid and use of an AED. The course is open to Argonne and DOE employees, contractors, students, users, family and friends age 12 or older. Sign up for ESH109FA through the Training Management System (TMS) on Inside Argonne.
Class sizes are limited, so sign up now.
Argonne and DOE sponsors are responsible for obtaining gate passes for their guests for all classes.
