Join C2ST for a program that explores unconscious gender bias, and how gender bias influences many aspects of life: from school to the workplace, government to social media and more. A panel of experts will discuss growing your awareness of gender bias, propose actionable solutions at the individual and societal levels, and take a look at the innovative solutions coming out of startups and corporations. The event will be held Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 222 West Merchandise Mart Plaza #1212, Chicago.
If you are a human being, you have biases — based on race, gender, sexual orientation, body shape and size, religion, height and a host of other things. Despite our best intentions and without our self-awareness, they are the associations that creep into our thinking, and the implicit biases we hold often don’t line up with our stated beliefs. These biases can affect how we view and treat other people, and have serious, real-world implications.
