John Carlisle, director of Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI), invites all Argonne employees, their family and friends to attend the finals pitch competition to select the second cohort.
The competition will kick off with a welcome from Robert Ivester, the director of the Advance Manufacturing Office in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
The finals will feature 10-minute pitches from 10 innovators coming from California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan and Missouri. Experts in industry, the investment community and the entrepreneurial ecosystem will serve as a reviewing panel to help select entrepreneurs to develop their hard-tech innovations with the help of Argonne experts and capabilities. This is a good way to hear about ideas in your domain space that are emerging in the startup community. It is also an opportunity for you to see whether any of the participants might make good collaboration partners.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
CRI is funded by DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and is aligned with the laboratory’s Manufacturing Initiative and mission of program growth at the laboratory. Innovators from across the nation who focus on the development of hard-tech in areas such as energy storage, nuclear energy, biofuels and advanced materials design collaborate with Argonne scientists and enviers. The goal is to launch new technologies that will grow American manufacturing jobs and increase American competitiveness in the energy and advanced materials design sectors. Collaborating Argonne principal investigators (PIs) can leverage the innovator’s companies on proposals and publications, create joint intellectual property and expand expertise in new industry sectors. Hear what the PIs who are collaborating with the first cohort have to say in this video.
Eighty-three innovators from 26 states applied to join the second cohort of CRI.
