Long-term care is the type of care people need when simple things, such as getting out of bed, eating or even taking a shower, become too difficult to do on their own for extended periods of time.

Preparing for the cost of long-term care is an important part of financial planning. For this reason, Human Resources is hosting educational seminars on long-term care insurance (LTCi). Participating in the seminars will enable employees to learn more about LTCi from industry experts. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. Spouses are invited to participate and will need a visitor gate pass, applied for in advance of the visit.

These sessions will be conducted by Legacy Services. Legacy is an independent broker that specializes in LTCi and represents multiple brand-name carriers of individual LTCi policies. This year they are offering introductory and advanced sessions. Employees are encouraged to attend one or both seminars.

Introductory session topics include: the cost of long-term care, the role of Medicare and Medicaid, determining if LTCi is right for an individual, why people buy in their 40s and 50s, key coverage decisions and more.

Advanced session topics include: keys to picking a carrier, mutual companies vs. stock companies, how different inflation options work, combination life/LTCi products, how to be a smart policyholder and more.

Below is the presentation schedule. To register to attend an educational session, please contact Legacy at 800-230-3398, ext. 101.
