Learn how working with participants in Argonne’s new incubator for technology entrepreneurs, Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI), can help you grow your program and increase your impact at the next JumpStart meeting Thursday, June 23, 2016.
The one-hour brown-bag meeting is open to all employees and will begin at noon in the Building 213 Work Café Private Dining Room. No registration is necessary, and all are welcome to bring their lunches.
In the current research and development (R&D) climate, many people with great ideas for transformational technologies that align with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) mission simply can’t get the resources to pursue those ideas. To help bridge this gap between the science workbench and the marketplace, DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and Argonne have created CRI. This is the first time innovators will be given such an extensive level of support and the opportunity to be embedded in a national laboratory in the Midwest.
The CRI program will provide innovators support to get started, funding for up to two years, dedicated lab and office space, support obtaining additional project funds and assistance conducting R&D. CRI Director Andreas Roelofs presents an overview of the program in this video.
The JumpStart series is a friendly, informal forum for employees to develop new tools and knowledge that will enable individual and collective success. We hope to inform R&D employees about the mission support services available to help them do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
Along the way, the meetings will provide opportunities for the laboratory’s mission support employees to partner with R&D organizations.
The format is a monthly brown-bag meeting at lunchtime in the Building 213 Cafeteria. Meetings will include 30 to 45 minutes of presentation followed by Q&A. When available, presentation materials will be made available on the Jumpstart page on Inside Argonne.
