The Open Enrollment period, Nov. 1-16, 2018, is an ideal time to update your personal and emergency contact information in Workday.
Having current emergency contact information in Workday is critical, especially if someone is unconscious or otherwise unable to respond to questions. It can save valuable time trying to track down a family member or other responsible person.
When emergency contact information is stored in Workday, responders can contact the laboratory’s Fire Alarm Office operated by Argonne’s Fire Department at any time and obtain that data immediately. Those names and numbers are held in confidence by the laboratory and shared with emergency response personnel only in an emergency.
Personal contact information (such as cell or home phone, and personal email address) may be used to contact you about changes in laboratory operations (due to snow events, for example) but may be used in emergencies as well. However, this information is primarily used to inform you of an emergency affecting the laboratory. It isn’t a replacement for the emergency contact information. Personal contact information does not have to be displayed in the employee directory.
On Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, employees will receive an email message from the Workday application with step-by-step instructions for updating both emergency contact information and personal contact information. Please take a few minutes to ensure your contact information is current.
