As part of the laboratory’s effort to maintain operational excellence, employees are asked not to reuse packaging that has previously contained hazardous or radioactive material. Doing so can increase the risk of cross-contamination. Also, transporting nonhazardous materials in packaging marked and labeled as radioactive or hazardous is a violation of U.S. Department of Transportation regulations.
There is no need to box your materials for transport off site. The Argonne Shipping department will ensure your business items are packaged to meet all requirements and regulations.
