Argonne will host an information session about the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Lab-Corps training program from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016, in Building 241, Room D172.
In October 2014, DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy launched the Lab-Corps pilot program to accelerate the transfer of innovative clean energy technologies from the DOE’s national laboratories to the commercial marketplace. Lab-Corps aims to better train and empower national lab researchers to successfully transition their discoveries into high-impact, real-world technologies in the private sector.
Three teams from Argonne participated in “Cohort 1” of Lab-Corps, and three Argonne teams are currently participating in “Cohort 2.” Based on the success of the program to date, DOE has announced a call for applications for two more project cohorts, which will begin in the summer and fall, respectively.
The funding schedule for “Cohort 3” and “Cohort 4” dictates that teams will need to be selected late this spring. As such, Argonne is soliciting applications to be submitted by Sunday, May 1, 2016 (5 p.m. Central).
Friday’s information session represents an opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions of program managers, and perhaps find like-minded Argonne researchers with whom you might collaborate.
