January is National Mentoring Month, and what better way to begin the year than to “JumpStart” your mentoring relationships?

In a JumpStart meeting set for Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, we’ll talk about:

  • basic steps towards building a meaningful mentoring relationship
  • key skills for mentors and mentees
  • examples of mentoring activities
  • resources available to mentors and mentees at Argonne and on the web

Speaker Tina Henne is Argonne’s Postdoctoral Program Lead and a member of the Argonne Leadership Institute.

The informal meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Bldg. 213 Cafeteria Conference Room. All employees are welcome — feel free to bring your lunch. Tip sheets for mentors and mentees will be provided.

The JumpStart series is a friendly, informal forum for employees to develop new tools and knowledge that will enable individual and collective success. We hope to inform research and development (R&D) employees about the mission support services available to help them do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

Along the way, the meetings will provide opportunities for the laboratory’s mission support employees to partner with R&D organizations.

The format is a monthly brown-bag meeting at lunchtime in the Bldg. 213 Cafeteria. Meetings will include 30 to 45 minutes of presentation followed by Q&A. When available, presentation materials will be made available on the Jumpstart website on Inside Argonne.
