Workshop: Managing Employee Issues (HR643)

A workshop on managing employee issues will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bldg. 240, Room 1404.

The workshop provides supervisors and managers a clear understanding of the laws governing the workplace and the translation of those laws into Argonne procedures. Guidance is provided on how to effectively manage issues such as poor performance, excessive absenteeism, misconduct, safety violations, sexual harassment and fitness for duty. Argonne-specific case examples are used to reinforce key concepts.

  • Respond to difficult employee issues.
  • Identify resources available to supervisors at the laboratory.
  • Complete documentation as necessary for employee issues.
  • Understand the role of bargaining units at Argonne and the grievance process.
