February is Black History Month, which celebrates the contributions African Americans have made to United States history. In the spirit of this celebration, the Argonne African American Employee Resource Group (AAA-ERG) is sponsoring a history trivia contest.

Beginning Feb. 5, 2018, a question will be posted daily for the next four weeks on Argonne Today. Answers for the week’s questions should be submitted to AAA-ERG@anl.gov by noon on Friday.

If someone answers all five questions for the week correctly, he or she will receive a $25 gift certificate that will be honored at the Bistro 213 Work Café, Argonne Guest House or Building 401 Grill. If more than one person answers all five questions correctly, a drawing will be held to determine the winner. Winners will be announced each week in Monday’s Argonne Snapshot.

“We think this will be an interactive way of sharing black history information and building awareness of the many ways African Americans have contributed to all areas of U.S. society and culture,” said Harold Gaines (CELS-SS), president, AAA-ERG.
