Nuclear Waste Management (NWM) will host a town hall meeting Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Building 212, Room A-157.
Environmental Waste Specialist Larry Thompson (NWM) will present the purpose and requirements of a satellite accumulation area and a generator accumulation area and highlight the benefits and drawbacks of each. Thompson will discuss location, characterization, labeling, documentation and inspections, storage limits and other requirements for each type of accumulation area. He will also address the common audit traps that research professionals whose work generates chemical waste may experience and how to prevent them.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation. Representatives from NWM; Sustainability & Environmental Program; Environment, Safety & Quality Assurance; and Programmatic Environment, Safety & Health will be present to answer any questions.
